For the Rogers Cup 2014 WrightXM sought to increase fan excitement for the event by offering free giveaway's in the day's leading up to the event. We constructed a giant lotto ball which was triggered by an Android tablet. After the participants filled out a survey, a Bluetooth signal was communicated to the lotto ball which would trigger the internal mechanics. The team at LairdFX managed the mechanics of the agitator, release trigger, and a backup manual trigger.
The sphere was 5' diameter, and the ball was filled with 20-30 balls at any time. In the week the activation ran we gathered over 9000 interactions.
