Colouring Book

THEMUSEUM Window Display

Interactive Artwork

THEMUSEUM in Kitchener issued a RFP for interactive artworks in their front window display. The interactive Colouring Book was the result of a collaboration between local artist, Julian van Mossel-Forrester and myself. The exhibit was sponsored by Christie, who donated their Microtile product and Clearpath Robotics.

The Colouring Book was developed in OpenFrameworks, operated on a Raspberry Pi, and interfaced through a Captive Portal on iPhone, Android and Blackberry Platform. The Captive Portal allows participants to interact with the artwork using their own smart phone. Voids in the artwork were located through OpenCV and coloured by detecting if a touch point was within the poly. A later iteration will incorporate a Lidar system.
