Interactive Signage

The Wright XM team produced the #GREYCUP signage for the 2015 Grey Cup in Winnipeg. The signage runs in an attract mode, and is responsive to Twitter hashtags. When a participant tweets the corresponding hashtag in English or French the sign will change to the teams colours for 20 seconds.

The sign relies on the Particle Photon to connect to the Twitter Stream to provide notifications. The system additionally captures the usage analytics. Using a Cloud API WXM could remotely administer the signage to react to the issues instantly.

WS2081 36mm LED modules were used, allowing the sign to operate at 12VDC. A total of 2800 LEDs were used to illuminate the structure. An acrylic substrate was used to diffuse the LEDs.
